Hi
I'm new to the forum and have a few questions.
I recently bought a used 21' TT Skyline Layton 1986 model. I will be picking it up from a private party in a couple of weeks.

My truck is set up with regular Reese receiver hitch to pull my pop up. Been towing it for years without problems, but the new TT is going to be much heavier.

The "new" TT has brakes but I need to buy a controller and have it installed. What model is recommended and what installation wiring will I need to get? Also my truck has four way plug and TT has 7 way. I've seen connectors of 4 to 7 way at Walmart, will this work for lighting or do I need to get something else?

I also don't have weight distribution, sway bars or the hitch to fit these and think I need those also, but again not sure what all parts I need to buy. I have a Reese receiver that is rated III/IV. I've looked all over the internet and am confused to say the least. Can anyone offer me suggestions?

I will be driving to Nashville on way to pick up TT in GA and friends are going to install these things for me before the pickup, but I'd like to purchase them and bring with me to save time.

Thanks for any offers of help!
Kathy

Get the 7 pin connector installed with a brake controller(get one)about $150 installed. I use an Equalizer WD hitch because I don't like messing with the chains($400 RV Wholesalers) others use the Reese Dual Cam. Hensley makes a great hitch but dang they are proud of it ($2,500). Either way, you will love the way WD hitches aid in towing.
