Help! We are buying our first towable! I know that not all Rvs are built alike but am having a hard time finding out which companies rank better than others.. I have searched and searched online and I can't seem to find some sort of ranking or something(you know, Cadillac, Yugo, Chevy kind of thing...)

We like the floorplan of the Dutchman and also the Wildwood LE. We need bunkbeds and tons of storage and the ability to bring bikes and whatnot.

A friend of mine's father said he wouldn't touch a Dutchman with a 20 foot pole and he hadn't any experience with Wildwood..

Can anyone help me before we make the big purchase this Saturday? We don't want to buy something that is going to end up being a disaster!

First and foremost, what are you going to tow it with? Be aware that the floorplan you are describing everyone has. Jayco makes a great rig from a construction point of view and they are a great family run business that has been around a long time. They are more customer oriented than most. I would check the WEB to see what floorplans are out there and then find the closest dealer to look at them. Don't put yourself under a time restraint unless you have to. We have all heard both bad and good about the brands you mentioned, therefore it might be the luck of the draw with them. You know was it built on Friday and that kind of logic. You might want to try my favorite site RVDirect.com, they carry a lot of brands including the Cherokee made by the same people who make the Wildwood......Good Luck and have fun shopping, but don't stress out. Enjoy the process....

How about checking out NADA.com and looking at the resale value of the two to which you have narrowed your search? See which one holds its value the longest. Chances are it's because it's more valuable and made better. Just a thought!
