I received my camper back from the dealer about 2 weeks ago from warranty repairs and as I pointed out they didn't even winterize it correctly. Now I can't pop up all the way because after I brought it home we had snow and freezing rain. Now it's thawed so I popped up enough to get the door open without tearing the weathestripping, and crawled around trying to see what I could.
I did a more thorough inspection as I was looking for evidence of rodents. I found the dealer has put a hole in my floor underneith the dinette. About a 1/4" hole so I'm pretty pissed. Also found that my door latch won't lock anymore. It locks but has play now like someone forced it at the dealer when it was locked. Didn't notice it before because I never really locked it and pulled on the handle.
I'm getting pretty pissed and thinking if there isn't anyone who can do professional work, I'll go back to tent camping and sell the darn camper. I'm really pissed right now.
I've had a lot of minor problems now with my Rockwood and it seems pretty darn standard with Pop Ups, I'm thinking I shouldn't had gone with a Pop Up because of poor workmanship.
I guess I'm sort of venting but really thinking I made a poor decision with going with the Pop Up. I'm thinking I should had just stayed with tent camping or had gone to a Travel Trailer.
I guess the only way to repair the floor is with a like color matching caulk. The door handle can be repaired with another but I don't want more damage done.
Now they still have my canvas since they (don't know if Rockwood or Dealer is at fault) only fixed some delivery tears and not all.
I previously had excellent luck with warranty work but the 'kid' who did the work I was very happy with, left for college. I'm getting a more experienced worker now but have found more mistakes on the repairs. Hek, the canvas was put on so poorly the zippers wouldn't even come together.
I called Forest River and hopefully I can have some of my concerns taken care of.
Sorry, just had to vent.
Have a good one.
