Reason for selling Wilma? We want to buy a new 2009 View 24J. Wilma has a clear title and was purchased in early 2006 from the 1st owner with 6200 miles. Her current mileage sits at 18012K. We are the 2nd non-smoking owners. She is stored indoors at my business and is kept clean and well maintained at all times.
Wilma is a full-featured Class C motor home with the impressive driving performance of front-wheel drive offering exceptional handling and its convenient size makes it a pleasure to drive and maneuver. A tough V6 engine with 201 horsepower offers surprising power and fuel efficiency (~13.5 – 14.0 MPG). Comfortable, roomy interior and basement storage. Overhead cabinets are plentiful and spacious while additional, conveniently accessible interior storage is provided under the couch and front dinette seat.
Besides the ease of driving, the driver and passenger also enjoy such conveniences as an analog dash, cruise control, dual airbags, automotive heater and air conditioner, low mount exterior mirrors with electric remote and defrost. Clarion DXZ445 AM/FM with CD player (satellite radio compatible) and power windows and locks. A 2,000-pound class 3 trailer hitch is installed with appropriate electrical connections. Air Springs in the rear and an exterior wash station. Swivel seat base on passenger seat. Wilma rides on Vanco 2 195/65R16C (front) and Vanco 8 215/65R16C (rear). Front tires purchased on 8 Feb 08 and rear tires purchased on 21 Jun 06. New Cobra CB radio with Firestik antenna and custom installation purchased 8 Apr 08. All have many miles on them. All windows have been professionally tinted throughout coach, smoke colored MaxxAir vent covers, WeatherTech window vents, custom made maple sink covers, seat covers, floor mats, mud daubers on furnace, AC/DC 12" color TV w/DVD player, new shower, bathroom sink and kitchen faucets, Scanguage II trip computer purchased Jun 08, lock box/safe, all manuals and maintenance records are available. MicroLite 2800 Series Generator (2.8KV) that has 32.5 original hours of total use.
The floor plan includes several sleeping areas. A comfy over cab bed which can accommodate two people, with the couch and dinette folding out at night into sleeping areas for another two.
The galley is equipped with such features as a recessed, stainless steel sink, new Mohen single lever faucet with separate spray nozzle, custom maple sink covers, Norcold refrigerator/freezer, range, and a microwave oven with range top exhaust vent.
The rear bathroom offers a full-size shower with flexible showerhead, powered roof vent, residential height toilet, sink, medicine cabinet and a wardrobe.
This unit is equipped with 7,100 BTU Coleman roof mounted air conditioner and a 19,000 BTU ducted furnace.
I will not mislead anyone and tell you that the coach is pristine like some other ads... Although all sub-systems are fully functional and the inside of the coach is in very good condition. I must tell you that Wilma does have some aesthetic battle scars... I will provide as many pictures as you require to make an informed decision and I will fully identify all known issues.
Issue 1. Front over cab bunk wall shows some bubbling on the wall paper. Do not know cause, but assume it was either water leakage from the overhead clearance lights and/or heat related. I purchased the unit with this existing condtion. Since then, I have resealed all the outside overhead clearance lights and have seen no further progression of this condition
Issue 2. Rear bathroom window was leaking water and caused of the wall paper to separate from the wall behind the toilet. This condition manifested itself a few months after purchase. Whilst I was repairing, by replacing the inner and outer seals of the bathroom window, I inadvertently caused a two (2) inch crack to the outside rear wall. I bondoed the crack but was unable to match the paint exactly. No further leakage has been noted to date. Functionally it is sound but aesthetically... well it is what it is.
Since taking ownership of the unit I have had it serviced at the local VW dealer. Synthetic oil is used and changed every 3K miles. On last trip to Florida we broke 17K miles and averaged 14 miles per gallon using 87 octane carrying a a load of two (2) adults, one (1) child plus gear, food, water and fuel. Some say that you can get better mileage using premium but I have not seen that realized.
For additional information, please contact us by using the red 'reply to ad' link near the top of this page.
Serious inquiries only, please. We are located in Northern Alabama, and will consider delivery of unit.
Thought of the day: Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out and proclaiming, "WOW WHAT A RIDE!!"
